Fat Quarters…

…are one of my guilty pleasures. I have so many of them that I think are so pretty. Most of the time I don’t even want to use the fabric for any project because I don’t want to cut it up. Because, you know, you’ll never ever find that fabric the fat quarter came from ever again.

But I sucked it up and cut a small square from one to make a sleeve for a new super shiny hard-drive.

The case was just too shiny and finger-print prone to not cover it up. Plus I just love the fabric. And my boyfriend has the exact same one so we needed some way to tell them apart.

Old stuff I forgot to add

A while back, I made a new shoulder bag (I refuse to call it a purse and it annoys me every time the bf calls it that):

This was not an original. I got the pattern from JCaroline. However, the detail on the strap was my own imagining.

And a little less while back, I made a padded sleeve for my new mini netbook:

This was sort of taken from Amy a la mode, but not 100%. Lined with flannel. My first time ever quilting, too!

Nook sleeve

My friend said she was getting a Nook for Christmas, so I made her this sleeve out of some really neat red fabric and black felt. The fabric I found at the new ‘Fabric Place’ (Sew-fisticated). It’s a red base with roses sewn into it that you can only see at a certain angle.

Weekending

Somewhat wasted weekend. But at least Nick was involved, which is always a bonus.

We went to IKEA to check out this table. It was a lot shorter than I was expecting and I really like it, but Nick had some other thoughts about it. Didn’t end up purchasing it. I think it would be perfect for the space once the fish tank is gone….I might still get it anyway.

Rented the move Young Victoria. It was a good movie. I guess it’s the actual story of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Yay history and love story. :)

We went for a bike ride for a max of 7 miles.

Cleaned the apartment, sort of. I ended up playing far too much World of Warcraft instead. /cheer 59 Feral/Resto Druid  ^_^

I made elbow pads for my computer chair out of some foam that came in a package and then sewed some black soft felt over them. Go me. The chair is so much more comfortable for my elbows now. :D

And that’s about the extent of my weekend. Not a very exciting one at all. I would like to go somewhere though… an adventure to Baltimore if I can scrape up some funds for a hotel…

Until next time,
